Big Bear Cabin Rentals

Finding the Best Time to Go On Vacation to Big Bear Lake

Planning a vacation can be exciting, but also stressful, especially if you don’t know what the weather is going to be like when you get there. If you want to enjoy the many snow sports around the Big Bear cabin rentals, it’s important to know when to expect snow. If you want to go fishing on the lake during spring or summer, you should know whether it’s going to rain or if it’ll be too hot. Fortunately, there’s a lot you can glean from past weather patterns around the area.

During winter, there is certainly no shortage of snow, so ski, sled, or snowboard to your heart’s content. Throughout the winter months (January through March), you can expect:

  • Highs of 47-52◦F
  • Lows of 21-25◦F
  • Precipitation of 2.56-4.13 Inches
  • Snowfall of 14-16 Inches

Come the spring, the snow and rain settle down quite a bit and the weather gets much nicer. The spring is a great time to look into Big Bear cabin rentals if you want to do outdoor activities in warmer weather, but still want to drink a cup of hot cocoa before bed. From April to June, you can expect:

  • Highs of 59-76◦F
  • Lows of 29-42◦F
  • Precipitation of 0.16-0.94 Inches
  • Snowfall of 0-4 inches

For summer activities like fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and bird watching, summer is a great season. From July to September, average weather patterns predict the following:

  • Highs of 74-81◦F
  • Lows of 42-48◦F
  • Precipitation of 0.47-1.1 Inches
  • No Snowfall

One of the best times to visit Big Bear Lake is during the fall when it finally starts to cool off again. The season is full of cooler weather perfect for walks through nature which is alive with color as the trees begin to change. During the later winter months, snow will begin to fall, creating a wonderful, chilly atmosphere. From October to December, the weather predictions are:

  • Highs of 48-64◦F
  • Lows of 21-33◦F
  • Precipitation of 0.91-3.11 Inches
  • Snowfall of 1-12 Inches

Fortunately, no matter what season you’re planning on renting cabins around Big Bear Lake, there’s no shortage of fun activities to do. But always plan ahead so you can make the most out of your trip.

Winter Activities Around Big Bear Lake

Winter is one of the best seasons — but only if you’re in the right place at the right time. Otherwise, it’s either cold without the joy of snow, or you’re stuck in inches or feet of snow that you have to shovel and drive through. If that doesn’t exactly sound like the winter wonderland most people imagine, it’s time to hit the slopes.

By renting a couple Big Bear Lake cabins for the weekend, you and your friends or family can enjoy a few days in a winter wonderland. If you just can’t stand to leave, extend your stay for a few extra days and enjoy plenty of fun activities around the lake, such as:

  • Skiing
  • Sledding
  • Zip Lining
  • Snow Summit
  • Snow Shoeing
  • Bird Watching
  • Snowboarding
  • Inner Tube Racing

Scenic Views That Inspire

If you live close enough to Big Bear Lake, you can opt just to take a day trip. But one of the best ways to take it all in is to rent some cabins right on the lake. Surrounded by evergreen trees lightly dusted with snow, white-capped mountains, and the glassy surface of the lake, it’s like staying for a few days in a fairy tale.

Make Your Trip as Relaxing or Action-Packed as You Want

Because of the range of activities around Big Bear Lake during the winter, it’s easy to pick and choose something just right for your mood. A relaxing weekend getaway might include bird watching. (You might even spot a couple bald eagles.) Or perhaps sipping coffee in the cabins and enjoying the beauty of the sunrise and then catching up on some reading surrounded by nature is more your speed.

Action and sports enthusiasts can ride the slopes on their transport of choice: skis, snowboard, sled, or inner tube. Whatever the case, if you’re looking to actually enjoy the winter instead of just tolerating it, planning a trip to the Big Bear Lake cabins can be your chance.
