Big Bear Holiday Fun

Are you ready to celebrate the holidays amidst the snow? There is so much awaiting you and your family in Big Bear.

Going skiing or snowboarding on Snow Summit or Bear Mountain is just the beginning!

Alpine Slide

You will find the Alpine Slide in the Magic Mountain Recreation area.

Climb onto the chairlift and be whisked to the top of the mountain, taking in the beautiful scenery during the ride up.

Once at the top of the hill, you can go down in a sled that will fit one or two people. You can control how fast you go, and there are even breaks along the route to make sure you travel at a safe speed.

You can buy a single ride ticket, or opt for a five-ride bundle.

Big Bear Snow Play

If you have never tried snow tubing, now is the time to experience it!

Take a magic carpet ride to the top of the hill, and then climb into an inner tube and fly down to the bottom.

You can tube to the bottom over and over again as many times as you want for a flat fee of $35 per person.

And, there is even glow tubing during the nighttime hours – an activity that cannot be missed!

Visiting the village

Thousands of lights illuminate Big Bear Village during the holiday season, and on opening night both Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by sleigh in the form of a Big Bear Fire Department fire engine.

Not only will Santa and Mrs. Claus take pictures with you and your family, but they will also be handing out candy to everyone too.

Plus, you can enjoy a cup of steaming hot chocolate and dance to the music of Nikki Sparks and the Mountain Marvelettes.

The tree lighting ceremony also takes place to help get you into the Christmas spirit.

Joyful Hearts concert

On November 30thand December 1st, come and listen to the Music of Joyful Hearts concert, which is put on by the Big Bear Chorale.

This group consists of forty singers, and they will not only sing but will also read poems and host a sing along for the audience. And after the performances have concluded for the evening, there is a reception where you can grab refreshments and sweet treats.

Admission for this event is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Movies in the Meadow

Have you ever watched a movie outdoors before in a snowy environment?

Come to the Snow Summit area on December 21stto see a free showing of the holiday classic “A Christmas Story.”

Bring your lawn chairs and heavy coats, and don’t forget a few warm blankets!

After the movie ends, go to the Bighorn Smokehouse to eat a hearty meal with the family.

Chirp Nature Center shopping

Starting on December 12thand ending on December 23rd, the Chirp Nature Center is home to the 12 Days of Christmas sale.
